Jan. 11 – Prosecutors brought additional theft charges against Deborah Lee Morrow, former executive of the Clatsop Association of Realtors.
On Tuesday, Morrow, 62, was indicted on six counts of first-degree aggravated robbery – three by deception – and 22 counts of impersonation.
The aggravated robbery charges stem from his time working with charities in Clatsop County.
Morrow allegedly stole at least $10,000 each from Warrenton-Hammond Healthy Kids Inc., Connect the Dots Clatsop County and Warrenton People Scholarship Inc. Morrow, who was the custodian of the organizations funds, allegedly forged the name of the maker of a check to make it look like a worthwhile expense, according to the grand jury indictment.
For the 22 counts of impersonation, Morrow allegedly used the identification of Pam Ackley, a former Warrenton city commissioner.
Ackley, a Gearhart realtor, said she has worked closely with the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office for two years.
“It’s been a frustrating process,” Ackley said. “The sheriff’s department has been very thorough and I’m counting on them to continue to work with the (district attorney) … to reach a resolution.”
The new series of crimes were allegedly committed between January 2016 and December 2021.
Morrow could not be reached for comment.
District Attorney Ron Brown declined to comment.
In July, Morrow was charged with identity theft, forgery and aggravated theft while working for the real estate association.
Morrow allegedly used identification of the real estate association and one of its officers, forged checks, and stole cash and other unauthorized expenses from the organization. Morrow pleaded not guilty to the original 30 counts.
Morrow was a prominent figure in Warrenton, working with several groups and serving on several area boards, including serving as chair of the Warrenton-Hammond School District Board of Trustees. His seat on the school board was filled by a new member last week.
