Govt. Phil Murphy told a roomful of local officials on Thursday that he expects New Jersey to make a full payout to its notoriously underfunded public servants retirement system for the third straight year.
“Paying out our full pension and meeting our tax responsibilities is not only the right thing to do for our public employees, it’s also the right thing to do for you and your bottom line,” Murphy said during from the opening speech to the annual conference of the League of Municipalities of New Jersey in Atlantic City.
