    Money market participants expect at least two 25 basis point rate hikes next year and borrowing costs to peak at around 4.9% by mid-year, before falling back to around 4.4% by the end of the year.

    Moraif recommended bolstering the cash reserves of those considering retirement, saying it pays to sit in a money market fund as the Fed continues to raise interest rates.
