- Today the Concord Planning Commission will discuss whether to demolish the old Claim Jumper restaurant in the Willows for make way for a new Chick-fil-A. They will decide whether or not to approve new land use and tree cutting permits. “According to a staff report for Wednesday’s meeting, the city and plaintiff held a neighborhood meeting on January 6, 2022, which no neighbors attended.” (Patch)
- Concord Police held a DUI checkpoint Saturday night. There were three arrests Therefore. “Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and impaired driving arrests,” Concord Police Officer Shaun Parsley said in a news release. “The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from impaired driving.” (Concorde crest)
- Concord First Partners and Local Reuse Authority (LRA) staff held two community meetings in December where they discussed the Naval Weapons Station Reuse Project Term Sheet. “The City of Concord has announced that the two presentations Naval Weapons Station project condition sheet videos are now available.“Concord City Council will consider the mandate sheet at a special meeting on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 9 a.m. (Contra Costa News)
- It was quite a show on Chilpancingo Pkwy. in the middle strip near the In-N-Out in Pleasant Hill on Monday! A fire hydrant was rammed and water spurted into the sky. Watch the video ! (Claycord.com)
- The San Ramon Planning Commission is reviewing options for the former Chevron World Headquarters. Sunset Development bought the property earlier this year. The developer is launching a concept that “consists of 1,250 apartments, 1,000 homes and 125,000 square feet of mixed-use office and retail space, and a transit center with a central park and other open spaces” .
