TUPELO, MS, USA, Nov 28, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Bobby Brock Insurance is the largest and oldest health insurance and a Medicare-focused insurance agency in Mississippi. With their main headquarters in Tupelo, they employ thirty-three local residents. They sponsor tons of nonprofit fundraisers and benefits every year, but this year Justin Brock had a different idea. “Upon hearing the news that United Furniture had laid off thousands of employees via text message just days before Thanksgiving, our team was shocked and wanted to know how we could help,” Justin said.
After hearing about a North Carolina company giving away 1,000 Thanksgiving meals, they were too close to Turkey Day for that to happen. Bobby Brock Insurance has set its sights on Christmas and launched Operation Feed Tupelo. On December 17, Bobby Brock Insurance staff will distribute boxes worth approximately $60 each of food to residents of Mississippi. The box will include a gift certificate for a $25 Butterball turkey and many other canned and non-perishable items that the recipients can use. Each box should have enough to feed a family of four and the company will be giving away 1,000 boxes on a first-come, first-served basis. So, when and where will these festivities take place? Keep reading to find out.
From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022, staff members and many of their families will be at Building 5 of the Furniture Market on Coley Rd to distribute 1,000 boxes of food and gift cards.
Bobby Brock Insurance has been the leader in sales of Medicare supplements and other Medicare-related products in Mississippi since 1992. They are also the largest distributor of Affordable Care Act plans and other forms of health insurance in the state. . They have offices in Tupelo, Southaven and Flowood with plans to open offices in Corinth, Oxford and Columbus in 2024 and Pascagoula and Madison in 2025.
In recent years, Bobby Brock Insurance has begun working to sponsor more events and become more involved in community relations projects. This is all part of their initiative to “Connect, Serve and Impact” the community of which their employees and customers are a part. Each quarter, every employee of Bobby Brock Insurance is required to log on for an afternoon of some form of community service. We pay employees for this time so that we can amplify our impact on the community. The goal of Operation Feed Tupelo was to bring in people from the city limits and surrounding towns and counties to directly weed out the middlemen who sometimes absorb the impact of goodwill. “We selfishly wanted to see the faces of the people we wanted to help,” Justin Brock said.
“Many of our own customers are people who we believe would benefit greatly from this event. Inflation is hitting the fixed income portion of the population particularly hard right now. What was already a tight budget is increasingly pill every day. Now with the layoffs, even the children of some of our elderly Medicare clients are being negatively affected. Some of those children were helping their parents keep the lights and heat on. Although we know we cannot helping each person through their financial hardship, we would like to be a light to the world and encourage others to do a small part to help their area brothers and sisters,” said Jeff Senter, COO of Bobby Brock Insurance.
The Bobby Brock Insurance team enthusiastically encourages everyone to pick up your Christmas lunch box early. Based on their research, they recommend people line up early this Saturday (around 8 or 9 a.m.) to ensure they get their box while supplies last. As a bonus, Bobby Brock Insurance will enter people who come in for a meal into a draw for a $1,000 grocery gift card. This $1,000 will be redeemable at Brooks Grocery, Operation Feed Tupelo’s partner grocery store.
