Generali GC&C appoints former Tokio Marine Exec Kanu as CEO
Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) announced the appointment of Christian Kanou as the new CEO, effective January 30, 2023.
Former CEO of Tokio Marine Europe, Kanu worked in the insurance industry for more than 20 years at the highest international level, holding management positions in several countries and markets. Kanu will oversee the implementation of Generali’s Corporate & Commercial activity in all markets in which GC&C operates, in line with the priorities of the Group’s strategic plan “Lifetime Partner 24: Driving Growth”.
Kanu has a proven track record of building and managing successful insurance operations, smart distribution networks and profitable underwriting portfolios. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree in business administration from the Cranfield School of Management (UK).
Manlio LostuzziCEE regional officer and current acting CEO of GC&C will retain his role with GC&C until January 29, 2023.

BHSI appoints Aviva Major as Country Director, UK
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) announced that he had appointed Nick Major as country manager, BHSI UK.
Major has nearly three decades of experience in the UK insurance market. He was most recently Managing Director, Commercial Lines UK, at Aviva plc. Prior to Aviva, he spent almost 15 years in positions of increasing responsibility, including Director of Underwriting, at Zurich Insurance in London. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (Hons) from King’s College, University of London.

Marsh appoints Perry as UK CEO of Credit Specialties
Insurance broker Marsh announced the appointment of Robert Perry as UK CEO, Credit Specialties, Marsh Specialty, in addition to his current role as Head of Global Political Risk and Structured Credit, effective immediately.
Perry is based in London and will report to Nick Robsonworld leader, Credit Specialties, Marsh Specialties, and Dominic Samengo TurnerUK CEO, Marsh Specialty.
In his new role, Perry will oversee the development of Credit Specialties’ risk and insurance services and solutions for UK and international clients using the London insurance market, which includes corporates, financial institutions, traders in raw materials and public bodies.
Perry was named Global Head of Political Risk and Structured Credit in July 2022 and is responsible for developing Marsh Specialty’s political risk and structured credit capabilities globally. Previously, he was Head of Asia Credit Specialties, a position he held since 2019. With over 30 years’ experience in the political risk and structured credit insurance market, Perry has worked in the UK, in the United States and Asia. Prior to joining Marsh Specialty, Perry spent 20 years at Willis Towers Watson.
With more than 850 colleagues in more than 55 countries, the Credit Specialties team brings together the main credit and product risk transfer disciplines of political risk and structured credit insurance, credit insurance and bail.
