    BRANDON — Come to work for FEMA and help your community recover from Hurricane Ian.

    FEMA proceeds to local hiring for more than 300 jobs in Brandon, Fort Myers, Kissimmee, Orlando and sarasota. The agency is looking for people with experience in customer service, logistics, environmental protection, engineering, emergency management and other job categories.

    These positions are full-time 120-day appointments that can be extended based on operational needs.

    FEMA Local Hire employees are eligible for the following benefits:

    Health insurance for individual or family coverage. The employer’s contribution is 75% of the premium. Local hire employees are eligible for enrollment in health insurance coverage from the official hire date/employment date with FEMA.

    Applicants must be WE citizens, 18 years of age or older and possessing a high school diploma or GED. People will need to pass a background check that includes fingerprints and credit checks, be able to provide their own transportation to and from work, and live within 50 miles of the employer’s office. Accommodation and meals will not be covered or reimbursed by the agency. Employees are also required to participate in mandatory direct deposit/electronic funds transfer for salary payment.
