Zurich appoints CIO Australia

Zurich today announced that Deepak Budhiraja will take on the role of chief information officer for Australia and New Zealand on January 16 next year, moving from Hong Kong to Sydney for the job.
Mr. Budhiraja is currently Sun Life Financial’s Chief Information and Technology Officer for Hong Kong, Singapore and Bermuda.
Zurich says he brings more than 20 years of experience in leadership positions overseeing digital transformation within the financial services industry. His early stints include over 10 years in DXC Technology’s life insurance advisory for clients located in the United States, Singapore and India.
“[He] brings impressive international experience to this role, including a strong ability to formulate digital roadmaps and a passion for innovation and customers,” said Hilary Bates, COO of Zurich Australia and New Zealand.
