Owith checks ranging from $50 to $2,000the Florida city of Tallahassee encourages residents to switch to natural gas to reduce electricity demand.
The city will even connect gas at no additional cost from the street to the home. Owners of residential or commercial properties may qualify for rebate and low interest financing programs.
The City of Tallahassee, along with new consumers connecting where gas is available, and natural gas users in the Leon, Gadsden and Wakulla Areas are also eligible.

Gas Discounts for Tallahassee
The Gold package bonus – $2,000. This rebate is valid for new installations of a gas stove, clothes dryer, water heater, furnace or combination appliance. The Gold package bonus of $425 brings the cashback to $2,000 in total.
The combined device – $1,375. Homeowners who purchase a combination of appliances can receive rebate checks worth up to $1,375. These are eligible for furnace + water heater rebates and heat the house and water. However, a new system, including the hydronic loop, controls and large capacity gas water heater, must be installed.
Natural gas furnace – up to $700. Those who choose to switch to natural gas for their furnace will receive checks for $700. Expect to receive payments of $350 from anyone wishing to replace theirs with another natural gas appliance. Just keep in mind that the electric air conditioner only works in the summer and these gas furnaces only work in the winter.
Tank or tankless water heaters – up to $675. The newest natural gas tankless water heaters heat water as needed, providing hot water for as long as you need it. Upgrades to natural gas water heaters are eligible for refunds of $675, while replacements are eligible for checks of $300.
Gas pool and spa heaters – up to $450. If homeowners decide to upgrade their gas pool heater, they could receive rebates worth $450. You can get checks for $250 if you want to replace your natural gas heating appliance with another one.
Gas stoves and ovens – up to $200. Gas cooking offers a variety of benefits, including consistent heat, precise temperature control, quick starts and stops, and many more. If you want to replace your appliance, you can get a $200 rebate; if you want to replace it with another gas appliance, you can get a check for $150.
Gas clothes dryers – up to $200. According to the city, those who choose gas clothes dryers can expect to pay up to 50% less for energy. You can get back $200 if you want to switch to natural gas dryers and $150 if you want to replace your current dryer.
Outdoor gas barbecues – up to $100. Switching to a gas grill has several benefits, including reduced summer air conditioning costs, easier cleanup, and cheaper fuel expenses per grill than with charcoal. Those who want to switch to gas can receive rebate checks worth $100, while those who want to replace theirs can receive checks worth $75.
Natural gas logs – $50. Gas logs provide a clean heat source without sparks or fly ash. Enter $50 rebate checks if you want to edit or replace.
Outdoor gas lights – $50. The cooler months are almost approaching and the terraces are ready to get cozy. Get $50 in rebate checks if you want to replace your electric lights with gas lights.
