The app uses new disaster risk information and vulnerability details of the owner’s buildings, as well as scientific algorithms that calculate the resilience of homes. The application provides a list of personalized actions to adapt the house and improve its ranking.
“This is truly a world first where people will be able to receive personalized recommendations that measurably improve their resilience,” said Kate Cotter, Founder and CEO of the Bushfire Building Council of Australia.
“This application could be applied and used worldwide in any country in any region, and this will be the next step of this project, to share science with the world.”
