A a new round of direct payments will be distributed to millions of Californians in less than 24 hours. One-time tax relief is available to residents of the state through the Middle class tax refund.
Eligible taxpayers will get the refund immediately; no request was necessary.
The second series of direct deposits, whose value varies from $200 to $1,050, will be sent by the State from tomorrow until the end of the year. When taxpayers saw that their checks depended on their last names.
When can I get it and how can I qualify?
A schedule for people who have received a Golden State Stimulus (GSS) check and one for those who did not was made public by the state.
People whose surname begins with A-K who have not received GSS must send their money by Saturday 17 December.
Payments will be mailed to anyone whose last name begins with L to Z who did not receive a GSS from From December 19 to December 31.
Between December 17 and January 14those who have direct deposits and who have updated their bank details since depositing their tax return 2020 will receive their money.
For individuals tracking their payments, direct deposit normally takes place three to five business days after the issue date.
To be eligible:
- File your 2020 income tax return before October 15, 2021
- Meet California adjusted gross income limits
- You were not eligible to be claimed as a dependent in the 2020 tax year
- Must be a California resident on date payment is issued
The payments will benefit a total of 25,787,689 taxpayers and dependents.
