Denver City Workers could soon receive a salary of a $4.3 million fund. The Denver City Council Finance and Governance Committee recommended to transfer $4.3 million from the budgets of many agencies to a fund for bonuses on Tuesday.
According Stephanie AdamsDenver’s deputy chief financial officer, vacancies in the city would provide the excess revenue.
City employees who have gone the extra mile due to the outbreak are eligible for the 2022Employee Appreciation Bonus Program. Adams does not foresee this being an ongoing initiative.
Adams predicted that at least 8,288 municipal employees would be qualified to receive the payments. The Denver Sheriff’s Office will pay bonuses using $1.4 million of his own money. This would be the greatest contribution to $4.3 million jar.
Who is entitled to this direct payment?
A few eligibility criteria have recently been proposed. First, you are “opt-in” if you hold a career service position where agencies report directly to the mayor.
Agencies can work with Finance and Governance Committee of the Denver City Council to Offer eligible employees the opportunity to register provided that such employees do not report directly to the Mayor.
In addition, part-time workers who are eligible for benefits under the Affordable Care Act do too.
In addition, they must have been hired by September 30, 2022, be on the payroll at the time of payment and be eligible to receive payment.
