New Delhi: The Department of Pensions and Retired Welfare (DoPPW) has resolved 3,150 outstanding pension-related grievances during the ongoing Swachhata special campaign, according to an official statement issued on Wednesday.
The DoPPW is the nodal department for the formulation of policies relating to pensions and other retirement benefits for Central Government/Family Retirees.
During the campaign, which began Oct. 2 and will end Oct. 31, the department has set a goal of resolving 4,200 pending retirement grievances to ensure prompt redress and improve the “ease of lives” of 68 lakh central government retirees, the statement released by the Ministry of Personnel said.
As of October 21 this year, within 20 days of the start of the campaign, 3,150 pension complaints have already been resolved, he said.
The department convenes interdepartmental meetings with relevant ministries and departments to resolve all grievances in a timely manner.
The DoPPW issued 30 circulars as part of the relaxation of rules and processes, 3,094 electronic files were closed and a total of 26 cleanliness campaigns were conducted, according to the release.
