MADISON, Wis. – Highlighting their work in the classroom, 124 outstanding student-athletes from the University of Wisconsin’s fall sports teams have been named to the 2022-23 All-Big Ten Academic Team, as announced by the Big Ten on Friday. Soccer topped the list with 51 winners, while women’s cross country had 21 recipients and men’s cross country 11. Volleyball won nine honors, while women’s soccer won 19 and men’s soccer 13 The Badgers earned spots on the Academic Honor Team.
The Big Ten conference recognized a total of 1,619 students on fall sports rosters who were named to the All-Big Ten varsity team.
To be eligible for All-Big Ten Academic Selection, students must be on a varsity team, as confirmed by being listed on the official team roster as of November 1 for fall sports, have been enrolled full-time at the institution for at least 12 months and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Leading their fellow Badgers in the classroom, six student-athletes from Wisconsin all maintained perfect 4.0 grade point averages (bold in team listings below):
