Jhis week is the last chance you have to claim unclaimed stimulation or child tax credit fund. Millions of eligible families have still not applied for their IRS benefits, the IRS said in October. If this applies to you, you must take action before the deadline in order to receive your money.

Many people who are still waiting for their payments have not filed taxes because they were exempt or needed more time. The eligibility of these two payments was determined by the IRS based on tax filings. And if you belong to one of these groups, the last day to receive your money is fast approaching.

That you should file a tax return or not affects when your money will be claimed. In general, if you deposit as a single person and earn less than $12,550 annually, you don’t have to.

If you are not generally required to file a tax return, you have until Thursday, November 17, submit a simplified tax return in order to receive unclaimed stimulus funds or child tax credits. The IRS keeps the free file site available through NNovember 17 to help.

If you need to file a tax return but have already applied for an extension this year or haven’t yet, the due date was October 17. It was also the deadline to submit Form 1040 in order to avoid a fine for late filing.

You have until February 15, 2023, to register a claim if you have been affected by one of the recent natural disasters, such as Hurricane Ian. You have up to Ttuesday november 15 file if you live in an area where Federal Emergency Management Agency declared a disaster, as Missouri or Kentucky.

How much money could you get from child tax credit and stimulus payments?

    • Enhanced child tax credit: Up to $3,600 per child, or $1,800 if you received monthly payments in 2021.
    • First stimulus check: Sent in April 2020, for $1,200.
    • Second stimulus check: Sent December 2020 is $600.
    • Third stimulus check: Sent March 2021, for $1,400.

Keep in mind that you should have already received your money from the first two stimulus checks if you filed your taxes in 2021.
