    Gas prices rallied again over the past week, although they remain some distance from their 2022 highs. But United States residents are always encouraged to shop around for the best prices at the pump.

    Those sky-high prices of 2022 have taught millions the value of shopping, and it’s a lesson that should be applied in 2023.

    We’re here to help again, like every day, and we’ve listed the cheapest gas stations in the 10 most populous US cities.

    Which state has the highest gas prices?

    Hawaii is now the state with the highest average gas prices. The price there is currently averaging $4.941 per gallon, having now fallen below that five dollar threshold.

    Which state has the lowest gas prices?

    The cheapest price tends to alternate more frequently in southern states, but right now the cheapest average is again in Texas, where it’s $3.112 a gallon, again above $3.
